Charles Maxwell was born and reared in southern Columbia County.  Mr. Maxwell graduated from Fort White Public School, North Florida Junior College and Florida State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology.  Mr. Maxwell is currently retired after 35 years with the Florida Department of Corrections/Probation and Parole, serving as a Probation Officer, Office Supervisor and Circuit Administrator in 3 Judicial Circuits.  Mr. Maxwell has served as an adjunct instructor at two Community Colleges and also, has three years of experience as a substitute teacher in elementary, middle, high school, ESE and vocational classrooms.  Mr. Maxwell has been active in a variety of community issues, i.e., "Protect Ichetucknee Now", "Save Our Suwannee", dugout club, youth baseball and board member of the South Columbia Sports Park.  He has been active in church issues and has made many mission trips to Haiti.

Mr. Maxwell encourages, supports and will lead the effort to focus on the enhancement of the academic performance of students and provide for student and staff safety.
