Eastside Parent Involvement is gearing up for another busy year. We hope that we can count on the same wonderful parent response that we had last school year. Don't forget to fill out your Volunteer Application Form. These will be available at Open House. You must be approved each and every year. One application covers all your children, regardless of what school they may attend. Be sure to have aunts, uncles, and grandparents fill one out too. NO ONE MAY CHAPERONE A FIELD TRIP OR VOLUNTEER IN THE CLASSROOM WITHOUT BEING SCHOOL BOARD APPROVED.

The Parent Resource Room has many educational resources for check out, such as Leap Frog, Launch Pad, Geo Safari, Word Arcade, Reading Safari, Math Star, Math Safari, and books and tapes. Come by the school and take home materials to work with your child. Together we can make a difference!

Looking for an inexpensive but meaningful way to spend time with your child and instill a love for reading? Try checking out some books from the Public Library. Find a special time to read every day. Let your child select the book to be read and sit close as you either read to them or have them read to you. Enjoy reading stories that continue for several days. Review what happened when you read the day before. Predict what may happen tomorrow when you will read again. However you spend time with your child, remember the greatest thing you can give your child is your time.
