Melrose Park Physical Education Program

Coach Jason Avery

GOOD NEWS from PE.

We have had fun learning about punting, passing and kicking a football.

Soon, we will be working on learning how to play 2 and 4 square.

Starting in November, students will practice CUP STACKING. We will be having competition within the school and winners will compete in a tournament on Dec. 15.

Other news, On September 20th we started the Morning Mile, it is on Tuesday and Thursday morning from 7:15-7:40. If you signed a permission slip, your child is allowed to come out. Permission slips are in the front office. As of this month, we have 192 signed permission;however, 111 students are very active in running/walking their laps in the morning. We have several students that have already completed 5 miles in just 5 meetings.

The 111 students have totaled 324 miles in walking/running. AWESOME!!! Wake up the brain, get to school on time, and get healthy.

Please make sure your child wears shoes on PE days and Morning Mile.

Top milers are Bryson H. and Kaylie R. The following students have completed 5 or more miles: Austin A., Jadarrious B., Amaria B., Jadarren B., Jacob D., Emily E., Andrew E., Benjamin E., Rosa F., Emma H., Ethan M., Dillon, Samuel S., Jacob S., Brianna S., Colton, Daniel W.,Robbie W.
Several are very close. Rewards are soon to arrive.
