PTO
The Melrose Park Elementary PTO is a very active organization that works to make each year a special time for students and teachers! PTO meets on the third Thursday of each month with informational programs and performances by school groups for parents, teachers, and students. Everyone is invited to become a member of the PTO.
PTO goes to work in the summer planning for the upcoming year. Our PTO works really hard behind-the-scenes to put monthly PTO Nights together. We have a meeting every month to prepare for the upcoming monthly events.
PTO also recognizes
students who go above and beyond, whether through academics or leadership
roles such as Student Council, Math/Spelling Bees, Think Sharp, the
Accelerated Reader Program.

to make Melrose Park a wonderful place to learn!
We sponser several events in addition to our monthly PTO Nights. We always need volunteers every year to help with the Back-to-School Breakfast for the staff, Christmas Gift Wrap stand, the Santa Shop, Mother's Day flower sale, and Teacher Appreciation Week, among other events.
PTO sponsors two fund raisers during the year, one in the fall and one in the spring. The proceeds from these fundraisers are used to benefit every child on campus. Over the past several years, PTO purchased televisions and VCR's for every classroom, allocated money to build covered sidewalks to special areas on our campus, and just recently began the task of replacing old, outdated playground equipment, and the list goes on. As one project is completed a new idea is in the works.
