| A Message from the Principal | |||
Dear Parents, I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to Melrose Park Elementary School. It is my distinct honor to be able to serve the faculty, staff, students and parents of the Melrose Park family. The teachers at Melrose Park are top notch and work diligently to ensure your child is receiving quality academic instruction. As a learning community, we value all children while maximizing each child's ability to become a productive member of our society. We not only value all children, we also value every stakeholder of our learning community! Therefore, as a valued stakeholder, I would like to invite you to be involved in every aspect of your child’s education. There is no greater gift to your child than your involvement. I know that your time and resources are limited, however there are many ways you can be involved with your child. Please take the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to find out how you can help. I would like to invite you to take time to check out our entire website. There are many points of interest for you and your child. Please look at the "Student/Parent Handbook" and "The Parent Page". Discuss and reinforce with your child the policies, procedures and rules of the school. In addition to the website, you will find a printed copy located in the student planner. We have prepared this book, and the matching website pages to explain many of our school's policies and procedures. Should you have any questions or need clarification please do not hesitate to contact the school. I would also like to draw your attention to the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) page on the website. The PTO is an integral part of life at our school. I would like to strongly encourage you to become involved and join the PTO. Thank you for the opportunity to work with you and your child and for your continued support and cooperation. I want to assure you that we place a high priority on maintaining a strong academic focus as well as providing a safe environment in the classroom and throughout the school. I look forward to a great working relationship. Sincerely,
Joe Adkins
